Solent City Open 2004

On Sunday 12 June Robbie Competed in the Solent Open Bodybuilding contest.

After a very delayed start the Solent Open finally started & Robbie looked by far the best competitor in his class.

Competing in the Senior section Robbie was thought to be, by everyone, the best competitor when they first stepped onto the stage. He was obvious in a league of his own, moving with a grace & expertise that made the others look clumsy.

Next came the individual section where Robbie performed a flawless routine to his signature tune "Bad to the bone", that whipped the crowd into a frenzy

But unfortunately, & to the shock of everyone, he came second in the event!

I know often events like this can come down to personal taste, and aesthetic preference, nor am I suggesting any "under handedness" from the judges, just that they didn't hold the same values of symmetry & muscular development as the rest of the audience.

Although I was disappointed with the result, Robbie was happy to take second, to him it's the time on stage that counts & how the audience react to his performance, not the judges score-sheets.

To finish here are some pictures of Robbie posing outside the event with his second prize trophy

Well done Robbie & hopefully you'll get that first place you deserve in your next outing!
