After spending over 25 years trying to figure out the best diet and exercise regimen my research finally led me to the diet that reverses disease. Many medical doctors were healing patients on a 100% raw vegan diet. I had been eating paleo for over a year and was tired of getting viruses, sore throats and constipation. Prior to that I had been raised on the SAD diet (standard American diet) and had many illnesses growing up that had always caused concern. I decided to take, what the doctors were saying was the healthiest diet known to man, and apply it to my sports performance at the age of 37. At that time there was a new sport of Extreme Calisthenics building a global following.
Extreme Calisthenics is based on basic natural bodyweight movements with an added element of creativity(freestyle) and progressions which round out ones functional athleticism and aesthetic symmetry, proportion, and beauty. There was one more thing I threw into the mix and that was the addition of raw superfoods such as maca, cacao, goji berry, hemp seed, and spirulina to name a few. These helped round out my vegan diet so that I was sure to not have any deficiencies that I had been warned about. The initial results was a dramatic increase in energy. The long term effects have been nothing short of miraculous. My sports performance went through the roof.
My cardiovascular endurance as well as muscle endurance increased dramatically. I felt more mental focus all day long. My skin improved and most importantly I don’t get sick. By eliminating all the toxicity from my diet and adding foods that have been proven to bring about health I essentially reversed the premature aging process and enhanced my physical athletic potential. For the first time in my life I began to feel a spiritual connection to the earth and the natural foods in had to offer. As a child I wanted to become a veterinarian because of my love for animals. Although I didn’t follow that dream to conclusion my love for animals has remained. This made what I was doing with my diet even more empowering. Not only am I healthy, strong and vibrant, I also know that I am not contributing to the senseless, greedy and cruel treatment of animals and the destruction of the environment.
Dan didn't ask me to put this up, but I know a lot of you are interested in this form of training & have wondered how to get started. Barology 101 is the first in what we all hope will be a series of DVDs that demonstrates the various movements commonly used in Extreme Callisthenics. Remember this is the first in what should be a really interesting series. Barology 101 demonstrates all the basic movements a person needs to master, but in future DVDs you will get information on how to programme your training for best results, ancillary exercises, progressions & much more to look forward to as they begin to show you how they have got to be masters of the bar!
