 Vegfest Brighton 2018

Pull-up challenge...

Inverted row contest...

Female contest...

Male contest...

Nathan convinces runner that flexing is better than running ;-)

This year had a few variations from the previous adventures, so we were very excited to to get going on our 2018 outings. Brighton is always a good event as we have room to do activities around the stall as well as have a contest at the event. We also gave some space on the stall to raising money for local AR activist Chris Kneath who passed away recently. He did a lot for the animals over his lifetime, so it was good to help give something back.

Not how Nathan dressed for the talk :-)

Nathan Loughton gave a talk at Brighton Vegfest for us this year, giving you the basics you need when you decide it is time to change your diet, get fitter, or both! Unfortunately, I missed the talk as I had to stay at the stall, but in future we will try to live stream on IG for you as they come along.

Pull-up Challenge

We held a pull-up challenge throughout the weekend at the vegfest, by the stall.  Women had to complete 3 reps, men 7 reps and children had to give it a good attempt to win a prize.
We had many successful entrants and loads of people went away with prizes. Below is a video of the people who succeeded. The more reps they got, the more prizes they got!

Inverted row contest

Fitness personality Amy helped out on the stall

Brighton is the city of pulling, because this is where we do both the pull-up challenge AND the Inverted Row contest. So, if pulling is your thing, then you missed an adventure over the weekend with many people entering our events and quite a few doing their very first pull-up over the weekend. We also had a few people who tried it last year, and returned to succeed for the first time this year!
This year was a new experiment, as we tried out live streaming for the first time on Instagram, the streaming went very well and we even had a person from Brazil who decided to go vegan during the stream, so a great success for a first attempt.
